No 1º domingo de Fevereiro, dia 6, repetimos o encontro mensal JAWA/CZ. Em Santo Tirso conseguimos desta vez concentrar motas vindas do Porto, Gondomar, Alfena e Famalicão.

À semelhança do encontro realizado no dia 2010.10.16, as Jawa 559 revelaram-se como o modelo dominante entre as presentes. Destaco o restauro da pertencente a Sérgio Pascoal como exemplar para este modelo, em que cada componente mereceu o devida atenção. Conseguiu um nível difícil de encontrar neste tipo de motas.
Surpreendente foi não só o número de motas reunido, como também a peculiaridade de alguns dos exemplares presentes. Devo destacar a Cz 485 de 1981, que pertenceu a uma escola de condução e a Jawa-Cz 354 com side-car Velorex 560 de 1956.
Esta última, pertencente a Jorge Fonseca, vindo de Famalicão, foi alvo da minha a atenção por várias razões. O seu estado de conservação, longe de estar irrepreensível, impõe o respeito que lhe é devido pela idade, magnetizando os olhares curiosos, atraídos pelo seu charme. Fiquei vidrado. Fiz questão de pedir várias vezes ao seu proprietário para a pôr a trabalhar só para ter o prazer de ouvir, deliciado, aqueles dois cilindros que cantam como duas motas a trabalhar. Fez-me recordar o fascínio que senti ao ouvir um motor daqueles pela primeira vez...numa feira em Kladno na Rep. Checa....
Da Rep. Checa trouxe uma garrafa de Becherovka, uma bebida original Checa, que gosto de partilhar em ocasiões especiais. Como é óbvio, neste encontro não podia faltar. E vai desde já ficar instituído que esta bebida vai fazer parte do ritual dos nossos encontros.

Boa curvas de Jawa/Cz
Daniel MoutinhoOn the 1st Sunday of February, the 6th, we repeated the monthly JAWA / CZ meeting . In Santo Tirso, this time, we have concentrated bikes coming from Porto, Gondomar, Alfena and Famalicão.

Like the meeting made on the 16.10.2010, the Jawa typ 559 was as the dominant model among those present. I have to highlight the restoration of the Sérgio Pascoal’s bike as a great example for this model, in which each component deserved a lot of care and attention. It was achieved a restoration level hard to find in this type of motorbike.
Amazing was not only the number of motorcycles, but also the peculiarity of some of the examples found. I should highlight the Cz 485 from 1981, which belonged to a driving school and a Jawa-CZ 354 with Sidecar Velorex 560 from 1956. This second bike, owned by Jorge Fonseca, who came from Famalicão, was the target of my attention for several reasons. Its state of conservation, far from new, imposes the respect that is due by its age, magnetizing the prying eyes, attracted by its charm. I was frozen. I asked several times to its owner to start the engine only to have the pleasure to listen in delight, those two cylinders as they sing like two bikes running. It made me remember the fascination that I felt when I heard an engine like that for the first time ... at a fair in Kladno, Czech Republic ....
From the Czech Republic I brought a bottle of Becherovka, a Czech original drink, that I like to share it on special occasions. Obviously, this meeting could not miss it. And from now and on, it will be established that this drink will do part of the ritual of our meetings.
